Easter Sunday Picnic 2016
With the changing of the seasons almost upon us, Anthonij Rupert Wyne Estate in Franschhoek will be commemorating the last few days of summer with a picnic on the sprawling lawns of the Terra Del Capo Tasting Room. The one-day only event takes place on Easter Sunday, 27 March 2016.
Families are invited to enjoy a day outdoors; relaxing in the sunshine and drinking fine shiraz and merlot varietals from Anthonij Rupert Wyne's impressive wine portfolio. Guest should come hungry as the picnic lunch that awaits them is a tasty array of gourmet nibbles. Beautifully presented baskets will be filled with freshly baked artisanal bread, delicious pates and spreads, cured meats and selections of fine cheeses. If you have a sweet tooth, dessert comes in the form of an easter egg or two. With the little ones having less than adventurous taste buds, a selection of kid-friendly picnic hampers are also available for purchasing.
After having marvelled at the picturesque sights of the estate, and once the food has settled, children under ten years of age can participate in a number of exciting lawn games.
If you're a lover of vintage cars, hop on board the estate's tram at 2 pm where you'll be taken to the Franschhoek Motor Museum. The museum has on display an exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia in the magnificent setting of the L’Ormarin's Estate. Please note that this outing is an optional extra.
If you're not a fan of nibbling on picnic treats on top of a blanket, opt for a formal Sunday lunch at the Antipasti Bar. Due to the popular time of year, bookings are absolutely essential.
